We’re currently taking refuge from the downpour in an Internet Cafe in Mumbai. So far things have been great. Lots of colonialism to see and explore, unfortunately not able to post any of the pictures just yet as I don’t have a usb cable with me to upload them.
Food has been delicious, especially at Wasabi by Morimoto last night. The most creamy, melt in your mouth Sashimi that I’ve ever had. Absolutely to die for.
The beggers and other hustlers can get a bit annoying and we learnt the hard way on our first exploration that any attention you give them means you’ll never get rid of them so we’ve been getting our ignore on today with much success.
Off to buy presents soon, hopefully the rain will ease off and we get settle into a nice hot bath in the hotel and out of these soaking clothes.
Excusing the socio-economic differences it really reminds me of up North here with the rain, temperature and trees.
Will post more when I next have net access and hopefully we’ll have some pics to share too.
It’s funny how the small things just add up and effect me. Went to Cloudy’s opening tonight which was fun initially. Caught up with people I haven’t seen for a while (jedo are engaged now!) and telling the what I’ve been up to made me realise how much change I have accomplished recently. I’ve got my learner’s, I’ve quite dStore, found a new job, am going to get my passport asap, have started Spanish class and am falling more and more in love with Cam as each day goes by. Yet I still feel hollow inside. It’s exciting telling people all I’ve been up to but whether all this stuff is actually making me happy is another story.
I thought Hec would make it tonight, I don’t know why, he is the king of piking when it comes to social occasions, and was really looking forward to seeing him. He’s away this weekend so I’m not going to get to see him or talk properly till the following weekend. Cam called for all of 10 seconds as he had to rush back to the bridge as they were leaving port and he’s in charge or navigating and steering the ship so we didn’t get to talk tonight. Individually these are both minor events but for some reason they both just got me instantly down. As soon as I returned to the table Jen asked right up “are you ok, what’s happened?”.
I guess it’s the times like these, where I feel it’s a moment to be shared with the people that I love, that I miss having Cam (or Hec) by my side. It’s not that I want Hec back at all, it’s just the familiarity and ease of communication that exists there. I think it’s going to be an intersting juggling act once Cam gets back. I still have an intellectual connection with Hec that I enjoy and I don’t want to dismiss that when Cam returns. However, I’ve been waiting so long to have Cam in my arms again that I know for the first week or two all I’m going to want to do is be with him. Even if it is just watching a dvd at home, I couldn’t think of anything I would want to do more than just spend time with him.
Well that’s my little outpouring for the night. Time to get check on my auctions in WoW.
I’ve been having periods are major depression lately and I’m not sure why. Well I have an inkling, and that’s due to the person in my life who is missing, but that shouldn’t be affecting my outlook to such a large degree. I’m having moments of complete and utter joy as well so it’s not like I’m in constant state of feeling down either. It’s this rollercoaster that I always seem to be on where I can go from being what seems to be the happiest person on the planet to being a hollow shell that feels devoid of any substance or connection with the outside world or people within an hour.
I’m meant to be so excited and happy about the new job and everyone else seems to be except for me. I just feel blase about the whole thing when I was previouslly really excited. I am missing not connecting with anyone too. It just feels like I’m going through the motions time and time again out of habit. Playing the game of gaydar, meaningless hookups and endless msn convos with braindead joe average when I don’t even need to anymore. I don’t know what compels me to even play but inevitably I end up back in that routine. Rolling the dice for anther turn. I guess I just want Cam home and by my side.

Super Mario World on the SNES was one of my favourite games of all time and it just moved up the list as one of the levels has an easter egg from the Nintendo staff that allows you to finish a level without doing thing!

Ooooer, I’ve been looking for a media streamer for a while and I think this will be the one. Movies, TV and music direct from the computers in the bedrooms to the TV & stereo in the lounge via wireless network? Yes please!
